Let’s get your site climbing up the Google ladder without breaking a sweat. Sure, this blog is written by me, Neil. “Hi there.” But, there is a team that actually works behind the scenes. I’m not exactly a soloprenuer. Meaning, I don’t claim to do this all on my own. It would be too much. I write this but I have a team that helps run different facets of the business.

Who Am I?

Well, that’s a LinkedIn bio all in itself but here’s the short version. I have an undergraduate degree in Advertising. I grew up in Nebraska and got some harsh advice from multiple professors. If you want to make something of your career, you need to leave Nebraska. It is great for Agri-business but not advertising or marketing. So I joined the Air Force. While in the Air Force, I had a career in nuclear security but my passion was still marketing. You can tell that by looking at my LinkedIn profile and see me hanging out with celebrities. It wasn’t meeting the celebrity part, that was interesting to me, it was making the business side of things work to get them. So I beefed up my knowledge on traditional marketing for nearly 12 years.

My Marketing Baby Step

Once I got out of the Air Force, I staffed and trained 3 Amazon facilities. Blah. Then, worked for a director and a producer. The first project was the Kentucky horse industry. We met heavy hitters in the Kentucky Derby, behind the scenes, interviews, created a sizzle reel. Cool, but we got no traction with the film industry.

Our First Big Break

What’s that, oh yeah, we did catch a break. The producer and director “Chris Ward,” wrote a play. He asked me to video edit a piece of that. Ok, it was a little different for me but I’m all about being comfortably uncomfortable. Meaning, I prefer a challenge. Well, that play was his first one. And… it was a homerun. Yep, it made it to Off-Broadway and ran for like 2-years. That was a nice confidence booster.

Solo Marketing

Not for the faint of heart. I decided to try some basic marketing and advanced video editing for larger organizations. Both were interesting and fun. One was a church so if you are looking to get access everything under the sun, find a church that does live video feeds. There’s your hands-on experience.

The other was filming and editing for a leadership institute for techies. Basically, it was my first deal where I had to run the whole show by myself. Essentially, it wasn’t fun living on a computer 24/7, trying to get everything lined up for a whole catalogue series. It was my first paying gig and I severely under bid for that.

Corporate America

Well sort of. I needed to pay the bills so I became a general manager at an international airport. I streamlined the business. It got bought out, and I was laid off.

So, I became a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. An official efficiency expert for corporate America. Got hired on at a data and analytics company. The short version, I expanded the business by millions. New investors came. I got laid off again.

The Light At The End Of The Tunnel

Just before that lay-off, I started a mental health practice. I used my marketing knowledge to grow it. Now, without running ads, it is ranked #1. However, don’t take my word for it. Take Google’s! We started off at the bottom. But, we moved up the ladder. We passed hundreds of other mental health practices.

In two years, we moved passed the big box therapy companies. For example, one is worth $240+ million the other is now $2.4+ billion. I didn’t spend any money on ads. Why? Because we were poor! But… it made me focus on only the marketing techniques that would move the needle for us. After all, these big competitors, each spend millions of dollars a year on their marketing. So we had to be tactical.

Marketing Awards

They are fun. Who doesn’t like to be recognized. But let’s be honest. We did win a few. I didn’t submit for them. Those awards are just positive side effects of the job. The difference between our awards and many marketing companies, is that we didn’t buy them. Ohhh! Yeah, I said it. If you see a marketing company touting the same award over and over and over… they pay for those. Look up the award. You’ll see what the criteria is and usually the cost. LOL!

FAQ: Boost Your SEO Game with Us!

Got questions about SEO? We’ve got answers! Dive into these FAQs to get clear, actionable tips that’ll elevate your website’s presence.

1. What is SEO and why is it important?

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. It’s all about making your website more visible on search engines like Google. Moreover, better visibility means more traffic, and more traffic means more potential customers. Cool, right?

2. How do I choose the right keywords?

Think like your audience. After all, they are searching for something. What would they search for to find your content? Additionally, you can use free tools like Google Keyword Planner or inexpensive tools like AnswerThePublic to find popular terms. Mix in some long-tail keywords (longer, more specific phrases) for targeted traffic.

3. What’s the deal with meta tags?

Meta tags are snippets of text that describe a page’s content. They don’t appear on the page itself but in the code. The most important ones? Page titles and meta descriptions. They tell search engines what your page is about and entice users to click.

4. How can I improve my website’s loading speed?

Without reservation, you need to compress your images. In this situation, huge files can slow down your site. Use tools like TinyPNG or Smushify for that. Also, consider a good hosting service and enable browser caching. These steps will help your pages load faster.

5. Why is mobile optimization crucial?

More people than ever are using mobile devices to browse the internet. If your site isn’t mobile-friendly, you’re missing out. Use responsive design so your website looks great on any device. Google even ranks mobile-optimized sites higher.

6. How often should I update my content?

Fresh content keeps your audience engaged and signals to search engines that your site is active. Aim for at least one new piece of high-quality content per week. But remember, quality trumps quantity every time.

7. What role do backlinks play in SEO?

Undeniably, backlinks are like votes of confidence from other sites. They tell search engines your content is valuable. Quality matters more than quantity; focus on getting links from reputable sites. Guest posting and collaborations can help you earn them.

8. How can I make my content more engaging?

Know your audience and speak their language. Use catchy headlines and break up text with subheadings and bullet points. Adding images and videos can also make your content more appealing and shareable.

9. What’s the best way to track my SEO progress?

Surprisingly, Google Analytics is your friend. It helps you understand where your traffic comes from, what your visitors do on your site, and which content performs best. Use these insights to fine-tune your strategy. Without a doubt, it is complex! However, you can learn it all in time.

10. Can social media impact SEO?

Absolutely! Sharing your content on social media platforms can drive traffic to your site. More traffic can lead to better search rankings. Plus, social signals (likes, shares, comments) can indirectly influence your SEO.
